About Jilene Schafers

After traveling for many years and finding inspiration in all sorts of places, Jilene Schafers has been funneling her focus into art making and working with the land.

Although primarily painting in acrylic and oil, she  also loves trying out different techniques, mediums and subject matter.  Largely driven by exploration and a good challenge, Jilene is always looking for that which will facilitate the expansion of her skills and personal growth. Drawing inspiration from nature, animism, psychology, and culture, she is driven by the satisfaction of bringing ideas to life, and those illusive moments of being lost in the process of creation. 

Born and raised in Central Alberta, Canada, Jilene also enjoys working with clay, learning about soil ecology, holistic gardening, herbalism, astrology and various other creative pursuits.
